Most runners would be happy just making it through a 38-km run. Pillu, a stray dog from Kanpur, apparently decided to do the same thing without ever being invited.The dog has become an unlikely internet star after running alongside a group of runners for nearly 38 kilometres during a long-distance run in Kanpur.Indian badminton player Prathamm, who goes by @itszzprathamm on Instagram, shared videos of the run and gave the four-legged runner a name that the internet has happily adopted: “Pillu Goggins”.According to Prathamm, he ran 43 kilometres that day, while Pillu stayed with the group for around 38 kilometres.And she didn’t simply tag along for a few kilometres.Videos show Pillu running beside the group, stopping when the runners stopped and taking hydration breaks along the way. The runners also made sure she had water and got enough breaks to keep going.One text overlay on the video summed up the disbelief perfectly: “She literally ran 38km with us. Pillu goggins, make her viral.”
Pillu wasn’t ready to quit at 21 km
The group apparently didn’t expect Pillu to make it very far.Prathamm explained in another video that they had planned to run the first 21 kilometres together. After that, the idea was to let Pillu stop and for the exhausted runners to take an auto-rickshaw home.But Pillu had a different plan.When the group crossed the half-marathon mark, she was still running alongside them. And instead of slowing down and heading home, she kept going.Her determination ended up changing the runners’ own plans. Prathamm said Pillu became a “silent inspiration” for the group and pushed them to continue towards the finish.That’s quite a running partner.
‘She absolutely smashed 38 kilometres’
In the caption, Prathamm praised Pillu’s stamina, saying she “absolutely smashed 38 kilometers without stopping once”.He also said she maintained her pace and took hydration breaks during the run.The videos show just how closely she stayed with the group, almost as if she had decided she was part of the team for the day.Of course, the unusual run also had some viewers worried about what happened to Pillu afterwards.Prathamm later addressed those concerns in a pinned comment.“Guys usne humare saath start kiya h mere ghar ke pass hi rehti and mere ghar par hi finish kiya so please ye pinned comment check karlena wo aise hi running karti h.”He explained that Pillu lives near his house, started the run with them and eventually finished at his home.
Internet wants Pillu Goggins to go viral
Once the videos started spreading, social media users couldn’t get enough of the unexpected running partner.“I hope you fed her something and returned her back to her territory. She looks very sweet❤️,” one user wrote.Another commented, “This should be way more famous. Pillu Goggins🔥🗿”Someone else simply called her “The bestt running partner ❤️”.And one user summed up what many seemed to feel about the dog, writing, “Its loyalty can never be judged 🙂”.At this point, Pillu may not know what a marathon is, but she certainly seems to know how to keep up.And judging by the internet’s reaction, Pillu Goggins might just have found herself a whole new fan club.
