Lance Oppenheim and Nathan Fielder paired up for the documentary project and started filming Elizabeth Holmes and her partner, Billy Evans, over 34 days ahead of her prison sentencing. This documentary has created quite a buzz for covering the disgraced business owner’s life before she was arrested and sent to prison. Not only that, but the filmmakers dedicatedly continued working on the film up until last year, attempting to make contact with Holmes while she served her prison sentence. The documentary has finally reached theatres worldwide, offering the audience an inside look into Holmes’ life, what happened with the company, her bond with her partner, and more.

‘You Can See Everything’ ending explained

Ahead of her surrender, the documentary provided the world a look into Holmes’ life at her beachfront home in California. The documentary film, which spans almost three hours, ends in October 2025, when Fielder catches up with Holmes’ partner, Billy Evans, and the company that he had been attempting to start. The filming crew lost access to Holmes after she surrendered and was sentenced to 11 years in prison for wire fraud and conspiracy to commit wire fraud. In order to fill in the gaps, the project also onboarded ‘The Housemaid’ star Amanda Seyfried, who fictionally portrayed Holmes in the film, as well as the 2022 show ‘The Dropout’. She and Christopher Abbott reenacted scenes between Holmes and Evans after Fielder was unable to establish contact with her while she served her sentence. The film ends with Fielder talking about how Evans struck a deal with the film’s producers with regard to the profits from the documentary. He also states that Evans made the deal without Holmes’ knowledge. The director wished to tell her; however, since cameras and recordings have been banned, Seyfried reenacted the moment in the film’s final scene. It is also revealed at the end of the movie that Evans backed down from his demand he had made about the documentary, and now he will not benefit from the documentary’s profits. When Fielder had confronted Evans about the deal and keeping Holmes in the dark, Evans had admitted that he did it on purpose, adding, “I purposely didn’t want her to be aware of it.”The ending also shows Seyfried and Fielder questioning whether Holmes was aware of the deal and whether Fielder had grown emotionally attached to her throughout the duration of filming the documentary in her home. The final scene of ‘You Can See Everything’ shows Fielder and Holmes swimming in the ocean. The scene had been filmed in the days leading up to her incarceration.
