Then there was the door handle, the lift button, your keyboard, perhaps the tap in the bathroom. None of these things necessarily looks dirty, which is exactly why they are so easy to forget about.
We tend to associate germs with obviously unhygienic places. But some of the surfaces we touch every single day can quietly collect microbes simply because so many hands come into contact with them.
