Speaking at a fashion event, Tina said she never felt Govinda needed to change his style to match other actors of his generation, adding that she enjoyed watching him embrace his individuality.

Speaking to IANS, Tina was asked about Govinda’s habit of wearing bright colours in his films and whether she felt his fashion sense had evolved over the years.Tina said, “Personally, it worked for him, and he enjoyed it, so as far as he was enjoying it, I was enjoying looking at him, and people enjoyed looking at him. So that’s what matters.”She was also asked whether Govinda should have adopted the more conventionally stylish or masculine looks associated with some of his contemporaries in the 1990s. Tina disagreed and said she had always admired her father’s approach to fashion.

Tina admitted that her opinion is naturally influenced by her admiration for her father as an actor. She said she grew up enjoying his films, songs and distinctive on-screen style.“No, I didn’t feel that at all because I myself am a Govinda fan, so I used to enjoy all his movies and his style, his songs. They were, like, too good, I feel,” she said.Govinda became one of the defining Hindi film stars of the 1990s, particularly through his collaborations with actors such as Karisma Kapoor and directors known for comedy and entertainers. His colourful costumes, energetic dance performances and comic timing became an integral part of his screen persona.

Govinda and Ssunita Ahuja’s marriage

Govinda and Ssunita Ahuja got married in March 1987. The couple kept their marriage private for a period before publicly acknowledging it, and they later welcomed daughter Tina and son Yashvrdhan. Their relationship has recently come under public scrutiny amid reports surrounding Govinda’s equation with actor Komal Rani Swarnkar, his co-star in the upcoming film ‘Roopa’. Rather than commenting on the issue, Tina asked the media to keep the conversation focused on the event she was attending.A photographer told her, “Komal Rani Instagram par aapki mummy Ssunita Ahuja ke upar bahut saare allegations laga rahi hai (Komal Rani has been making several allegations against your mother, Sunita Ahuja).”Tina responded, “Yeh wali jagah par please hum isi ke baare mein baat karte hain. Govinda and Komal Rani to star together in Roopa

Meanwhile, Komal Rani Swarnkar has maintained that her public appearances with Govinda are connected to their professional association. The two are set to share the screen in Roopa, which is slated for release in early 2027. The film marks Komal’s Bollywood debut and was officially announced in July 2026.
