How to care for a leather-strap watch and make it last longer

When you’re not wearing it, keep the watch in a cool, dry place such as a watch box or soft pouch, away from direct sunlight, heat and damp, and don’t leave it in a hot car. Don’t store it in a sealed plastic bag, since trapped moisture can encourage mould. Check the strap now and then for deep cracks, fraying, split holes or a stiff, curling shape. These are signs it’s time for a replacement, and a fresh strap is far cheaper than damage to the watch itself.
