BENGALURU: Bugged by technical glitches, Karnataka Examination Authority has extended the last date for UG-NEET students to link their roll number to August 7. “A server issue is being faced, and its maintenance is being undertaken. Accordingly, the date for UG NEET roll number linking and submission of new applications has been extended until August 7,” KEA said on X.H Prasanna, executive director, KEA told TOI that there is a heavy load on servers, which is affecting the services. Meanwhile, students said they are facing difficulties to book slots for document verification. “The verification for slot booking link is given for clause B to Z. But after login, students are unable to select dates. The dates were given as 4, 5 and 6 for slot booking,” said a student. “Even for NRI verification which is supposed to be from August 4-8, there is no link released for slot booking yet. We don’t know how to get it done now,” he added.KEA said that students are allowed to walk in without booking slots. “We will inform the students of the procedure soon on X,” he said.KEA also postponed the Kannada language test, originally scheduled for August 5 for out-of-state and border-state candidates who have applied to participate in counseling after July 30. It will now be conducted on August 9.“The exam has been postponed because some candidates who could not register because of the server issues have requested an opportunity to submit their applications. The test will be held on Aug. 9 from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm. Those who were absent for the Kannada exams held on April 15 and May 23 may also attend,” Prasanna said. As per the schedule released by the Medical Counseling Committee, the first round All India quota counseling will be held from August 4 to 17. State counseling by KEA will be held from August 13 to 22. The last date of joining is August 22 and August 28 respectively.
