Kendall Jenner is known for sharp, fashion-forward dressing, her mountain home is a bit of a surprise. It’s softer and cosier and about as far from red-carpet polish as you can get. Think vintage bits and bobs, lively patterns, warm colours and furniture you actually want to sink into. Sleek and minimalist? Not even close. It feels like somebody really lives there. She gave fans their first peek through photos on her official Instagram account. Then on December 8, 2025, Architectural Digest followed up with a fuller tour, where Jenner talked through how the place came together. Interior designer Heidi Caillier, who helped bring it all to life, chimed in too.
Made for slow days and good company
Jenner never wanted a showpiece. She wanted a house where friends could drop by, stay longer than planned and feel totally at ease. She told Architectural Digest she’d pictured a packed game night, with everyone squished onto one sofa. When that scene finally played out for real, she said, it really got to her. This is also the first home she’s built from the ground up. The original plan was to renovate the house already on the land, but it turned out to be past saving. So she brought in architect Kirby Lee and Caillier and together they built the mountain escape she’d been dreaming of.Nobody has said exactly where it is. Wherever it sits, it sounds and looks a long way from the hustle of Los Angeles. Jenner has mentioned filling her days with hikes and bike rides, then heading home to cook and wind down.
Florals and colour take over
The pattern is the first thing you notice. The living room’s huge sectional is covered in a bold floral fabric that’s impossible to miss, and it’s a surprising pick for someone so often linked to understated style and clean-lined interiors.Jenner told Architectural Digest she knew that fabric was the one the second she saw it. She’s upfront about her taste, too: “I’m not a bare-bones type of girl. I love color, and I love pattern.”The rest of the house has the same energy. Vintage art, patterned upholstery, textured walls and lots of wood keep the rooms warm. Nothing is matched to within an inch of its life, and the whole place feels like it was collected slowly over the years.
A kitchen with real character
The kitchen mixes old-fashioned charm with a few bright surprises. Dark wood cabinets and marble counters give it a rustic base. A blue Lacanche range adds a pop of colour, and the red-and-white checkered floor brings a cheerful country vibe. There’s a sweet story behind one of its best features, too. The fireplace was Kris Jenner’s idea. She texted her daughter a photo of it, Kendall loved it straight away and it went into the plans. Then there’s the powder room, with its yellow fixture and retro touch. It might look out of place in another house, but here it fits the colourful mood perfectly.
Space for everyone to stay
The house isn’t just about pretty rooms. It was planned with overnight guests in mind. One guest space has built-in sleeping nooks, and a 2020 Airstream Bambi has found a second life as extra accommodation. The Airstream was a birthday gift that meant a lot to her, and she eventually decided it belonged here. Inside, it’s cosy and playful, with a tiny kitchenette and a bathing area.In the end, the house is exactly what she set out to build: a place to relax, spend time with people she loves and take things slowly. It’s less about showing off luxury and more about creating a space that feels truly like hers.
