Madhuri Dixit’s husband, Dr Sriram Nene, has shared a funny confession about their wedding reception. He admitted that he did not recognise Bollywood stars Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan when they attended the celebration. He made the revelation during a recent chat with filmmaker Farah Khan.
Dr Nene felt like a prom king at the reception
Farah Khan and her cook, Dilip, visited Madhuri Dixit and Dr Sriram Nene’s Mumbai home for her latest cooking vlog. During the conversation with the ‘Om Shanti Om’ director, Dr Nene said he knew hardly anyone among the many celebrities present. The only exception was Amitabh Bachchan, whom he knew from the film ‘Amar Akbar Anthony’.“I didn’t know anyone. It was like Prom King, you just waved at everyone and later look at the wedding album because you don’t know anyone. The only person I knew was Amitabh Bachchan because I had seen Amar Akbar Anthony,” he shared.A surprised Farah asked if he really did not know Shah Rukh and Salman either. Dr Nene confirmed that he did not, but added that both actors were extremely sweet to him at the event.
Why he was unaware of Madhuri’s fame
Dr Nene explained that he was living in Los Angeles at the time and did not speak Hindi. When Farah asked how he had never heard of Madhuri, he gave a simple answer.“Because I grew up on Steven Spielberg, George Lucas, and Star Wars. I didn’t watch Hindi films. Then we met and dated for three months. We just hit it off and got along, and after three months I proposed to her.”
