The rising actor and nephew of Michael Jackson spoke to Variety about his burst in popularity with ‘Michael,’ which was released earlier this year. He also opened up about how many people talked about his uncle’s controversies over the years and how they should be addressed in the upcoming sequel that is currently in its early stages of development.Addressing the matter about this, Jafaar stated, “Finding out who Michael was is in his music. It’s in his lyrics. It’s in the poems he wrote, the videos, the messages he put out, and the talks he gave on panels and at universities. It’s in what he devoted so much time to: charities, visiting other countries, and visiting countless children.”He also talked about what will happen in the sequel, sharing that since the project is still in development, he is not well aware of what fans might get to see in the future. He added, “Part two, I can’t say, because I don’t know. It’s not up to me. My job is to come prepared and deliver the best performance I can. But to know Michael, it starts with the music.” He also added that nothing final has been shared with him and he has not “been told anything concrete”; however, he is fully enthusiastic about stepping back into his uncle’s shoes.One of the main controversies surrounding Jackson comes from when he was accused on multiple occasions of grooming and assaulting minors. At the time, the singer completely denied all allegations, and his family has maintained that statement to date.
